The luxurious fabrics of our royal wedding dress

Each and every dress that carries the Pronovias Atelier label is handmade by expert seamstresses in our Maison in Barcelona using the finest fabrics and laces imported from France and Italy.

Isabelle Junot’s royal bridal dress was crafted with delicate silk organza. The exceptionally lightweight material gently flows downward for an ethereal effect, while the subtle shine adds a contemporary element to the gown. The fabric of our long-sleeved wedding dress draped beautifully, creating a graceful, refined bridal look fit for royalty.

For Junot’s second dress, the design was created with French lace and flocked tulle. Lace wedding dresses capture the atmosphere of the special day with delicate floral detailing, and Junot’s two-piece set embodied the romance of hers. The lightweight tulle enhanced the second bridal look with raised patterns covering the top and skirt for a luxurious, contemporary feel.

Selecting the silhouette of a royal wedding gown

Alessandra Rinaudo, Pronovias chief artistic director, oversees the creation of each and every gown, resulting in an extraordinary experience for the bride as her dream dress unfolds before her eyes. One of the starting points for creating a dress for a royal wedding is selecting the correct silhouette.

From simply elegant A-line gowns to breathtaking princess wedding dresses, the silhouette of a bridal gown can vary greatly. Isabelle Junot said ‘I do’ in a spectacular ball gown bridal dress that echoed the exquisitely understated looks of other recent wedding dresses of the royal family.

Ball gown-style wedding dresses have a distinctive, sweeping skirt that contrasts against a fitted bodice, creating a feminine profile. Isabelle Junot’s gown was complete with a regency-inspired neckline and wide sash waistline. Stylistic details such as the high, button-down backline and three-quarter French sleeves are pure haute couture classicism fit for wedding dress royalty. The voluminous skirt featured hidden pockets in the side seams and elegant box pleats around the waistline, which supported a spectacular, cathedral-length royal wedding dress train for Junot’s dramatic entrance down the aisle.

A reception dress for a royal wedding

With a long day of celebrations, some brides choose to change into a different gown after the ceremony. Junot followed the bridal trend, changing out of her royal marriage dress and into a stunning reception outfit, also created by Pronovias Atelier.

The appeal of a different reception dress

Selecting another gown for after the ceremony allows the bride to celebrate with loved ones in a more comfortable design. Choosing a lightweight, modern wedding dress or a simple, short ensemble provides for more freedom of movement as you dance the night away. By having two different designs, one for your ceremony and one for the reception, you don’t have to sacrifice your dream wedding gown if the dramatic silhouette is too restrictive for your reception.

Our two-piece royal bridal dress in lace

For the lavish reception held in an ancient palace and attended by the crème of Spanish society, Junot wore a two-piece outfit (midi-skirt and crop top). Raglan sleeves, an embellished waistband, and a gentle fit over the hips lent the look a contemporary feel that contrasted with the regality of her wedding gown.

With luxurious detailing and premium fabrics, Pronovias Atelier created a royal wedding dress to remember. From Junot’s breathtaking regal look as she walked down the aisle to the youthful, contemporary ensemble for her wedding reception, both of her bridal looks perfectly expressed the two most important moments of her dream day.
